We are still here, still moving, still organizing, still painting, and just had our internet hooked up in the new house yesterday. Now we can stay connected :) Yesterday was our nephew Aaden's very first birthday. I revisited the e-mail I sent out a year ago to everyone I knew with his day-old pictures and showed my coworkers his picture now. He has grown so much in just 365 days and he is adorable. See? This week has been uneventful for the most part, besides my early Monday morning fall down the stairs in our house, whereby I may have broken my foot. Yay.
I had two photoshoots scheduled this weekend that I have been so excited about and they've been rescheduled :( for a weekend in June. Can't really be a fast photographer with a limp :) Well, I can't anyway!
We have now been homeowners for two weeks and I'm pleased to report we've been living there for one week (but still haven't completely moved in). We have a few odds and ends from the old house's garage to move over today and tomorrow and this weekend will hopefully be some good, quality organization time.
Our progress so far on organizing the house has been slow, whereas my mom's progress on the house while we're at work during the day has been lightning-fast. She has painted nearly every room in the house (including ceilings, which are not fun to paint) and next weekend (I am turning 25 next Saturday), we are hoping to be taking up hallway and stairway carpet to take a look at the hardwood that we discovered last week (which appears, from what we saw, to be already completely stained, finished, and sealed). There's no way to tell 100% for sure until we take the entirety of the carpet up, but I'm hoping for positive results. What a birthday present! The floors are made from original oak planks with a dark walnut stain. Can't...wait...to show you!!!!
This weekend I will post some before-and-after photos if I have time. I haven't taken out my camera in over a week and it's breaking my heart. But I DO know where it is in the house, so worry not. Josh and I installed a tin backsplash and we changed the countertop color, while my Mom re-painted the cabinets and walls for us. It is a lot of fun making a home "yours" after you move in. It's been fun so far.
Anyway, sorry for the hiatus in blogging. I've just found myself so exhausted from working by day and moving by night. And this week, working by day and icing my foot by night. heehee.
