It's Almost Here!

The wedding is almost here.  It is so hard to believe it is only one week away!  We leave on Friday and I can't wait!  This week will fly by and we'll be in paradise.  This just in! Josh has a blog now too! You can find it here. I find it to be way better than mine--he really has a talent for writing.  See for yourself!
 

This long holiday weekend was possibly the best ever. My younger sister Emily was home from college and we had a photoshoot.  She was pretty patient with my requests for her to "run" or to look this way or that, or to "lean on the tree" or "jump up and down" and we took a few hundred photos by the time it was over with.  Here are some of (what I think are) the best ones!

This weekend was, of course, a time for being thankful. We had a wonderful family and friends-filled Thanksgiving at my parents' house and it was as fun as always! There weren't as many leftovers as there were last year, which is a good thing. You can only make so much with leftover turkey!  We put up our tree the night before Thanksgiving, which is much earlier than we used to decorate when I was younger.  I just figure that if we are going to be spending a week in Jamaica that we might as well enjoy the Christmas decorations for a week extra :)  We did get our first snow, which of course happened on Black Friday, the day of pilgrimage for shoppers across the nation.  This is a picture from my parents' backyard taken after I arrived at their house cold, wet, tired from braving the crowds of Walmart.  It was snowing and sleeting so hard at 5am, but look (ahh, how peaceful) around 7am.  I told my mom that the weather during the early morning rush was probably God's way of reminding us to be less materialistic.  But, I did find everything I was looking to buy on Black Friday and at such great deals.  After some online purchases, I think I should be almost completely finished Christmas shopping!  Yessss! 

More to come later!  I want to devote a whole post to the lovely shower my mom and sister hosted for me this weekend at Olive Garden.  It was a lot of fun :)
