The Ways of the Blog

Well, I must say, all my free minutes at work this week so far have been spent learning here and there about blogging techniques and HTML code.  I've also spent quite a bit of time blogstalking blogvisiting, which has proven to be very entertaining!  There are some truly inspiring blogs out there, including this one, which so far happens to be my favorite.  It is about family, faith, photography (and gives some amazing DSLR advice and editing lessons), and marriage.  It sounds so strange to "follow" people you don't even know, but really blogging is such a great creative outlet and some bloggers out there should've really been published authors by now.

Some of the HTML code seems pretty complicated, but it is so fun to customize things.  I found some awesome freebie layouts at this website which gives some great ideas and links to custom blogs.  The freebies are great in and of themselves, and the site offers custom blog templates (which you pay for) if that is something you're interested in.

This week has been pretty slow at work, as students seem to be at home preparing for the holiday season (and the winter weather which is definitely looming near).  No snow just yet, but I wouldn't be surprised in the next few weeks to wake up to some wonderful white stuff.  Don't get me wrong, I love snow, in moderation.  Waking up an hour early for work just to shovel snow from your driveway is not my idea of fun, but I guess on the upside, it can be a pretty good cardio workout.  Here are a few pictures from our first big Cleveland snowstorm, when it snowed three feet overnight.

I went to dinner with my friend Melissa last night.  I love this place...they have the best chopped salads and chicken parmesan!  We went to a special pet store at the mall after dinner, to kill some time and visit the cute little puppies and kittens.  This pet store is special because it doesn't buy from puppy mills (only from breeders) and doesn't support normal pet store practices.  They have everything from designer breed puppies and kittens to skunks, pot bellied pigs, and even shelter animals for sale!  I fell in love with a lab mix last night, but alas my two dogs are a handful as it is!  Here are a few older pictures of my girls, Sadie and Belle!  They are truly my "babies" and are my pride and joy.  Belle is five years old and Sadie is three; we want Sadie to have puppies sometime in the next year or so...she would be a good mom!

Well, more later!  Today has been  very boring so far!
