Steaks and Stones

I have to say, I do very much enjoy reading "chance of snow" rather than "accumulation of __ inches expected."

The snow is beautiful, one of nature's little miracles.  I love when it's really, really cold outside and you can actually take a look at individual snowflakes before they partially melt. So not much new snow this morning, but there was a coating of ice over all windows.  Don't even get me started on ice.

Well, today was a good day.  I woke up with a a "bad news" hangover.  Know what I mean?  You know, when you wake up in the morning and you think to yourself "yesterday ended on a bad note I think...but I can't remember why," and you have to jog your foggy memory into the realization that ah yes, that happened yesterday.   Since then, today has been on the up-and-up.

We did get our Christmas gift from Josh's grandma and grandpa the other day:  Auburn pajamas.  They are really warm.   Yes, I know, that was me going off on a tangent.  I do that a lot.

Tonight, Josh, my parents, my seester and I had a nice dinner with my grandma to celebrate her birthday, which is tomorrow.   The restaurant is called Steak on a Stone.  Now this is a pretty unique kind of restaurant:  it is where you choose what kind of meat you want (the steak) and they heat up a big stone to 750 degrees (the stone) and you cook your food (the steak)  for as long and as much as you want (on the stone).  Then, my friends, you eat the steak.  But not the stone.

So yep, hence the restaurant name.  Steak on a Stone.  I ordered the Pasta in a Bowl.  Was good.

But, as we ate our meals, we witnessed people cooking their own thick cut steaks to their perfect rareness (or doneness) on their own personal stone and it really did look kinda fun.  The idea is that the meat you choose is just how you want it cooked, bite by bite, enjoying control over your immediate culinary destiny.  So maybe we'll go back some day for our own stone experience.

Another tangent.  Our family friend has fireplace with mantle that gets so hot to the touch that you can quite literally cook an egg on top of (in a skillet, so as to be less messy).  Probably less expensive than Steaks on Stones.  And you can do it in the comfort of your living room.

Tomorrow is Thursday, which in my previous blog, I explained means Friday is for sure on its way.  So far, I haven't made any specific plans for the weekend so I guess I'll see what it shall hold.  The snow is supposed to be "chances of" instead of for sure accumulations for the next few days so maybe I can get out to the park and take some pictures.  A good friend of mine told me that Hudson is a beautiful place to take photos of nature.  I do need real, live photo subjects besides Belle and Sadie.

Ok, I'm finished now, I promise. I know my post isn't super interesting today, but I mean really, what happens on Wednesdays anyhow?  They're about as exciting as Tuesdays.  I know, I know, I'm just kind of boring in general.  :)
